On May 11, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners of Douglas County passed a resolution stating that masks are not mandatory in any indoor space in Douglas County. However, as an incorporated municipality, the City of Castle Pines does not fall under the purview of this Douglas County resolution and does not have the authority to opt-out of the State Executive Order. Thus, The City of Castle Pines is currently mandated to follow CDPHE Public Health Order 20-38 Limited COVID-19 Restrictions and the Governor’s Office Executive Order D 2021-095 asking individuals in Colorado to wear non-medical face coverings.
What You Need to Know
Masks are required in all public indoor spaces in Castle Pines with three exceptions:
- If 80% of individuals in the room have proof of vaccination, then masks are not required (business will determine how to gather that information).
- If a restaurant can show that 85% of their employees are vaccinated, then employees do not have to wear masks. Customers must continue to wear masks while moving around the facility unless the requirements in bullet #1 are met.
- In groups of less than 10, masks are not required, regardless of vaccination status.
