May 5, on Giving Tuesday, Mayor Tera Radloff and Council Members did just that- gave away over 8,000 face masks to this community.
You and your neighbors collected your masks at our #MaskUpCastlePines event to support the importance of wearing face masks in public.
Mayor Tera Radloff and Council Members are not mandating residents to wear a face mask, but they are encouraging you to use them for your safety, the safety of others and most importantly to continue fighting the Coronavirus.
The effort began in early March as COVID-19 began to impact communities, Mayor Tera Radloff and Council Members took swift action, signing a Declaration of Emergency, closing city offices to public access, transitioning staff to remote services, governing City Council Meetings virtually and reaching out to encourage you to practice of social distancing, stay home, and wear face masks in public areas.
In early April, Mayor Radloff and Council Members unanimously agreed that providing face masks for this community would contribute to your health and safety. Castle Pines was the first City in Colorado to provide free face masks to our residents. Your enthusiastic response to this event attracted the attention of local media, but more importantly, it shows our community commitment to keeping one another safe. View the media coverage: Fox31, CBS, 9NEW.
