May 2020: Mayor's Message

May 8, 2020 at 5:15 pm

Neighbors,

May marks a new month and reminds me we have several milestones to celebrate.  Our weather is more consistently Spring-like, the days are getting longer, we honor our graduates and earlier this month we officially transitioned to “Safer-at-Home”.  It’s great to be able to enjoy socializing again in small groups and have our businesses slowly reopen.

Thank you for doing your part to support the health of our community and making this possible.  I’m proud that our collective efforts with best practices and personal responsibility are making a difference and enabling us to start to emerge.  We appreciate your participation in #MaskUpCastlePines where over 8,000 masks were provided to the community.  The remainder will be used to support our local businesses for their employees and customers.  Your enthusiastic response to this event attracted the attention of local media, but more importantly, it shows our community commitment to keeping one another safe.

On another note, I’d also like to recognize all of our 2020 graduates.  The creative ways you’ve adapted to celebrate demonstrates how resilient and flexible you are.  Congratulations on your accomplishments!

Happy Mother’s Day and enjoy the weekend.

Be Well,
Tera
