Douglas County Moves to Safer at Home: Level 2
On October 29, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) informed Douglas County that we have moved to Safer at Home: Level 2 due to a recent surge in COVID 19 cases. With the change in level comes a change in guidelines and restrictions. Visit the CDPHE Safer at Home website for details and resources. In summary, Safer at Home: Level 2 requires:
- Bars: closed
- Group Sports: 25 person cap per activity
- Gyms/Fitness: 25% capacity or 50 people
- Indoor Events: 100 person cap (with calculator)
- Libraries: 100 indoors per room
- Offices: 50% capacity
- Outdoor Events: 175 person cap (with calculator)
- Outdoor Recreation: 50% capacity
- Personal Services: 50% capacity or 50 people
- Places of Worship: 50% capacity or 50 people (or up to 100 with calculator), 6 ft between parties outdoors
- Restaurants: 50% capacity or 50 people (or up to 100 with calculator), 6 ft between parties outdoors
- Retail: 50% capacity
- Senior Facilities: outdoor and compassionate visitation, indoor under limited circumstances
- Social Gatherings: up to 10
With the move to Safer at Home: Level 2, sector variances are permanently lost. As such, all gyms and life rites in Douglas County are required to operate according to stated requirements in Level 2.
Douglas County has launched a regional campaign to remind residents that COVID safety measures make a difference. The City will also be supporting the effort and encouraging our community to wash hands, stay apart, and wear a mask.
