The City of Castle Pines received the first-ever "Community Impact Award" from the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce for its support of residents and local businesses in 2020.

At the Annual Award Ceremony, the Chamber organization recognized the City's efforts going above and beyond to positively impact our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chamber celebrated the City's:

  • Proactive approach to communication keeping residents and businesses informed and safe
  • Free mask giveaway event for all residents early in the pandemic
  • Promotional programs such as the Take-out Takeover and bingo card developed to encourage business at local restaurants
  • Behind the scenes efforts to help businesses understand the financial support available such as PPP loans and County assistance as well as the constantly changing business restrictions
  • Grant programs that offered direct financial support to residents and businesses

Last year, the City created three different grant opportunities to address specific areas. The first was housing, food, and financial assistance for individuals; the second, small business assistance; and finally, outdoor dining assistance. In the end, the City gave local businesses nearly $350,000.

"While I'm grateful for the recognition, it is our local Castle Pines businesses that deserve special acknowledgment," said Mayor Tera Radloff in her acceptance speech. "From the very beginning of this pandemic, our business community has shown resiliency and tenacity…they have found creative ways to keep customers safe and their doors open."

The City of Castle Pines has always been committed to the community's economic health through policy, community planning, and partnerships. The unprecedented circumstances and the funding available through the CARES Act gave the City the unique opportunity to offer direct financial support.

"The challenges of 2020 have strengthened the relationship between the Chamber of Commerce and the City organization, and it has shown that Castle Pines residents and businesses will always come together in times of crises." continued Mayor Radloff. "I am proud of our community, and I look forward to a better year in 2021."

Congratulations to all the 2021 Chamber of Commerce award winners!
